Simple keys to being thin and healthy for life

There’s always another ad for a miracle product that will make you thin with no effort. After a decade of these wonder products, there is no decrease in obesity and illnesses are sky-rocketing.

Then you have the opposite extreme – vegan, raw foods, and other icky sounding stuff.

The amazing truth is that once you learn simple secrets to eating healthy, you can enjoy eating again and not worry about your weight and cut your risk of disease.

Here’s a few simple rules. Make them your way of life.

Eat your 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday.

Even if you change nothing else, this one tip will help you lose some weight and feel better.

Do not eat packaged foods.

Everything packaged, processed, instant, microwaveable, all have to contain chemicals to increase shelf life. If they do have any nutrient value, it’s been added. Lab created food doesn’t naturally contain vitamins, does it?

Do not drink pop.

Pop again is full of chemicals, and has the added benefits of corn syrup or artificial sweeteners – and either one is bad.

I know, you think you can’t live without these staples in your life. Once your tastebuds recover, you won’t like the taste anymore. Your body was never meant to ingest these fake ‘foods’ in the first place. Is it any wonder that obesity and disease has skyrocketed?

Save time & money by shopping only the outer perimeter of the store.

You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can get in and out of the grocery store when you no longer have to go up and down all the aisles! You’ll also find that you’re spending less money.

Eat all day.

That has always been the secret of thin people. It seems like they’re always eating, doesn’t it? They are. That’s what keeps them thin. Their bodies are trained to burn the food as they eat it. It’s not stored as fat.

Now, what will you do with all the money you’ll save on diet products, prescription drugs, and medical care?

There’s a Market for Your Fat

Oh my gosh. Selling fat on the black market to cosmetic companies? Removing your fat as soon as you die while it’s still fresh and creamy?

Geez, I don’t think you have to go through all that. I’m sure there are lots of people who would be willing to sell their fat, don’t you? Especially at 15 grand a liter!

Are doctors who do liposuctions selling the fat?

Did you know this stuff was going on? I sure didn’t!

I’m speechless!

Easy Fat Loss?

Liposuction seems like an easy way to lose fat, doesn’t it? I mean, having 2 liters of gross disgusting fat just vacuumed right out of your body?

Isn’t that gross?

Julia and Julia – my review

I just watched Julia and Julia. I was really looking forward to seeing it. Everything I heard about the movie was good.

The first problem is – I hated Julia Childs. Her voice was totally annoying. I thought she was self absorbed and snooty. I thought her show was terribly boring. I had no interest in making meals that took hours to make. Did this movie capture her essence as I remembered it? Oh yeah. And the way she snubbed the other Julia? Totally what I would have expected from her.

Now the message of persistance, and not giving up on your dreams, and the importance of people supporting you were all great, but I was bored. I thought the movie went on and on…

One good thing I can say about Julia Childs is that she did inspire people to cook good food. Her cookbook continues to sell well. Where I think she missed the mark is making it easier to eat good food everyday. But she wrote from the angle of a rich woman who had nothing else to do.

That’s not us, is it?

She was 91 when she died, so – eating well does work wonders. Her husband was 92 when he died.

So we have the best of both worlds here, healthy food that tastes good AND you can make fast!

Make a difference this Lent

I know, you’ve been bombarded with all this bad news from health care reform, to the so named ‘food safety’ act, to the new threat on your rights to take supplements, and GMOs and toxins in your food.

Pretty overwhelming, isn’t it?

You might feel like it’s hopeless. Like there’s nothing you can do.

As long as you have a dollar to spend, there is something you can do. You vote with every single dollar you spend. And as in any election, if enough of us vote – we can win.

So, here’s the deal -

Imagine the impact on the market if we all refused to buy GMO products for Lent.

1. We would send a serious message – right to where it gets heard; their profts.

2. We would all be a lot healthier, thinner, and happier as a result.

Can you think of a better thing to give up this Lent that would make such a difference not only in your family, but in the world?

It worked in Europe. They missed their opportunity on vitamins, but at least GMOs are illegal. Let’s not miss our window of opportunity.

As the saying goes, Speak now, or forever hold your peace.

We Can Make a Big Difference This Lent

I was talking with someone tonight who is really not interested in healthy eating. This alone makes me sad. To protect their identity, I can’t go into any more than that.

During the course of the conversation, the movie Food Inc. was brought up. Well, I hadn’t seen the movie, so I set out to find it.

The first thing I found was an interview with Director Robert Kenner on PBS. He called the movie “a civilized horror movie for people who appreciate food.” Wow.  You can watch the interview here – (opens in a new window)

Intrigued, I had to find the movie. But it seems it’s been pulled off of every free site for copyright infringement. But, I was able to find the official trailer – Food Inc. trailer

I found that I could rent it at Amazon for $2.99

I checked my local library. They have 3 copies, but all of them are checked out. This is a pretty popular movie I guess.

So I went back to Amazon and rented it – and I was crying by the end of it. This movie delivers the big picture. Believe me, I will be putting even more thought into the food I buy and put on my table.

I’m going to ask you to find a way to watch it before Wednesday. This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. What better way to make our voice heard than to give up these foods for 6 weeks?

Not only can we change what’s happening, but in the meantime -

You’ll feel better

You’ll have more energy

And you’ll lose weight.

Are you willing to make a real difference this Lent?

As the one farmer says -

“Why not make it policy to have such nutritionally dense food, that the peodple who ate it felt better, had more energy, and weren’t sick as much? Now see, that’s a noble goal”

I agree. That’s what this site is all about.
