Things you need to know

These days I feel like I’m living smack dab in the middle of a 1970s sci-fi flick, I swear. As I listened to the webinar I’m about to share with you, I kept thinking of the movie Roller-Ball. Back then, you never could have imagined that stuff ike this would happen in real life – but it is happening, and you need to know about it.

Have you ever wondered why the government seems to be so against vitamins? Or why they are attempting to outlaw small farmers in favor of commercial farms when we all know that safer, healthier food comes from small local farms? Did you know that vitamins are not readily available in many countries?

Doesn’t it all seem a little anti-health? It’s not your imagination. There are some dark things going on.

I encourage you to listen to this webinar all the way through. Yes, it’s kind of boring, and the woman’s voice is annoying after a while – but you need to know this stuff. This really is serious – I guarantee you’ll be shocked at much of what you’re about to hear.

And after you’re done listening – log in to the members area and make a committment to stop eating, and feeding your family – the foods that are keeping you fat and sick.

And pass this message on – We need to wake up – FAST!

What if?

What if you really could lose the weight easily by signing into the members area and applying what’s there?

What would you do if you could have more energy to get everything done, and still have energy to enjoy life?

What would it be like to get up in the morning and actually feel good?

How much money could you save in your lifetime if you didn’t have to rely on prescription drugs to stay well?

What if you didn’t have that nagging voice inside that’s always worried about diabetes, heart disease or cancer?

What if you could have the health, energy, and mental clarity to spend quality time with your grandkids?

How would your life change if you were healthier? If your kids didn’t have so many sick days?

How much will your life suck if you don’t change?

Is it too late?

With spring around the corner, I’ve been thinking about planting my garden. But the research I’ve been doing has woken me up to a scary reality. It’s nearly impossible to get a seed that has not been genetically modified. As I read through the gardening catalogs, I realize that practically every description contains something that the plant is resistant to. That may seem like a good thing on the surface, but think about the fact that the seed has pesticides and herbicides built right in.

You can’t wash it off. It lives inside your body.

Is it too late to have access to truly healthy food? When you can’t get a seed that is not genetically modified, your entire food supply is contaminated.

There was a good reason in the beginning – to make more food. It is not possible to produce enough food to feed everyone. But it’s gone too far, wouldn’t you say?

When it becomes impossible for the people who are motivated to eat real foods to obtain those foods, we have a problem. If the herd chooses to eat whatever is put in front of them without question, so be it. But those of us who are trying to maintain our health, and the health of our families by making smarter choices are finding it increasingly diffiuclt.

If, as this video claims – Monsanto owns most seeds – we are doomed. And if the control of our food supply is now a legal issue – where are the anti-trust laws? Who is monitoring Monsanto? Seems like they’ve been given a blank ticket to do whatever they want, doesn’t it?

Don’t give up the fight!

If you know of a company that sells heritage seeds – please post it here in the comments. We need to show our full support for the companies that provide the foods we need to stay healthy.

Are Consumers Waking Up?

There’s an article in the recent edition of SuperMarketNews that has getting quite a bit of attention….

“There are other issues that grab consumer interest but, for whatever reason, never seem to break through the public consciousness and out into the open. This has been the case with genetically modified foods.

Government statistics from 2007 show that the vast majority of the country’s commodity ingredients come from GMO crops: 91% of soy, 87% of cotton and 73% of corn. It’s estimated that GMOs are now present in more than 80% of packaged food products found in U.S. or Canadian supermarkets.

The coming year promises to bring about a greater, more pervasive awareness of those numbers as opponents of GMOs bring a unified campaign — complete with a non-GMO standard — to the public. (read the entire article here ) ”

Did you catch that? 80% of the packaged foods you’re eating contain GMOs.

The good news is that as people become more aware, the food manufacturers will make a business decision to remove these ‘foods’, the way they have been quickly removing corn syrup.

The bad news is, they will find another way to cheaply disguise cheap ingredients. I personally don’t trust any of them. They’ve been poisoning us for years.

That’s why I’m a Rebel. I use very few packaged foods. It’s nearly impossible to not use any prepared foods if you have a job, kids, a house, you know – a life. But eating realatively healthy is not that hard. (I think I found a new word – realatively! Get it? real food… I know – Groan ;-)

Healthy Dinner Head Battles

Have you ever had this dinner duscussion with yourself?

Me – It’s snowing, the cat is sick, I worked all day, the dog has to go out again… I don’t feel like making dinner.

Head – Excuse me! That’s exactly why you need to eat a good dinner!

Me – OK, the pork chop is thawed, and I have a sweet potato.

Head – Oh no you don’t missy. You are eating a salad. Or are you going to just let all that beautiful produce rot?

Me – OK, OK. Lettuce, brocolli, green onions – is that good enough?

Head – Great! And see that wonderful canteloupe you already have cut up? Grab that too.

15 minutes later …

Me – Wow, this is good!

Head – See. And it took you a whole 15 minutes.

Me – Yeah, I know. I wrote the book.

Head – Well, you should follow your own advice!

———————————————-

In case you think that I’m some sort of heatlhy eating saint – I’m really no different from you. I’m very busy, and often I don’t feel like making something to eat. But I don’t feel like running out to get something either. And 9 times out of 10 – I’m sorely disappointed in food I get out, so I know better than to give in.

As a matter of fact, last night I gave in. I had been running around like a chicken with my head cut off, and we are supposed to get at least a foot of snow today. So I grabbed the new Red Barron frozen pepperoni pizza to try.

It took over 25 minutes to bake the silly thing, and it tasted like frozen pizza. I don’t know why I think someday a frozen pizza will taste good…

I felt bloated and tired after I ate it, and I still felt tired when I got up this morning. What did I expect? There’s no nutrition in a frozen pizza. So now I started a super hectic day with not enough sleep or nutrition. Not good.

But tomorrow will be better. I’ve made sure of it. Even if we do get over a foot of snow.

Now, I’m going to go cover the sleep part…

See you soon.
